Sliding above 1000 ft at OUE Skyspace , Los Angeles

by eazynazy

OUE Skyspace (SkySlide) was on my bucket list since it’s opened for public and this week I finally got a Chance to Visit the California’s tallest open-air observation deck with 360 degree views of Los Angeles not once but TWICE.

OUE Skyspace is a 1,018-foot skyscraper with 73 Standard floors.Where 54th floor consists of Interactive Exhibits , 69th and 70th floors are the observation decks.

After going through a quick security check , we were directed to the Elevator where Mayor Eric Garcetti’s voice welcomes you in the elevator and takes you up to the 54th floor . The elevator ride was super quick (lessthan a minute).

Elevator ride

As soon as you enter the 54th floor, you will find things like the Infinity Mirror and Silhouette Wall which were really amazing, but what we loved  the most was the 360-degree LA Skyline Time Lapse. It’s basically a huge room with big screens on either sides where the LA Skyline Time lapse is displayed. Those breathtaking views made me realize how beautiful my city is .

There were also some installations on the 54th floor which tells you about the city’s rich history, iconic film locations, vibrant music scene, sports teams and Only in LA moments. My favorite was “Only in LA” Installation.

Infinity Mirror

From there we went to the 69th floor which has 2 open-air observation decks with breathtaking city views. On clear days, you can even see all the way to the Pacific Ocean, showcasing scenic landscapes from the San Gabriel Mountains. It was definitely crowded but we din’t had to wait to take a picture with a background as there was plenty of space available for everyone.

Night

Me and my husband are totally different when it comes choosing our favorites. My husband’s favorite was the Skyslide, he actually says this is the most thrilling part of the Skyspace is the Skyslide which i also agree .The Skyslide is a 45-foot glass slide , suspended above 1000 foot which hugs the outer side of the building. It actually shoots you from 70th Floor down to 69th Floor.

The Slide

I was so nervous by looking at it as am scared of heights but trust me it was not at all scary , I actually enjoyed the View from on my way which was stunning .It was a short ride but I’m glad I did it!!

That slide looks insane!!!! I would love to do something like this. This seems like so much more than just a tower to see the views from. I think it’s awesome they’ve included all these cool things to do as well.

What a fantastic way to see the city. It has actually given me something to look forward to seeing when I go there. LA has never been my favorite just because it is so crowded but from up here I feel like I can forget about the crowds and enjoy the view. Plus that slide is simply amazing and while a bit scary seems to be a ton of fun.

I have a major fear of heights! Standing on top with just a glass wall and floor keeping me from falling several feet down below is a scary idea! But the view is absolutely stunning. The LA skyline is too good to resist, I think I might brave it… I think!

I totally need to go do this! I’m not scared of heights, but the thrill of looking down and seeing the streets would be a trip! The exhibits look really cool and entertaining. I don’t think people give enough credit to the LA skyline. It’s beautiful! Well, when you can see it through the smog…

I would be equally terrified and excited of that slide. Heights scare the heck out of me, but what a rush! And what a neat way to see the city!

When I was in LA last year, this was on my list of things to do! Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to go, but from reading your post it felt like I was there. How insane is that slide?? I’m also a huge fan of that infinity mirror, how trippy.

That view is stunning! I saw Guillermo from Jimmy Kimmel open the slide and he looked frightened! But I would definitely give it a go and hopefully do not get stuck halfway.

The view is absolutely stunning up there. I would be afraid a bit of the heights as well. But that’s so cool. And it’s great that you could get some great photos and not have to deal with tons of people.

The OUE has such a great view. Where I live (Toronto), there is a CN tower and it also has a magnificent 360 degree view of the city. If I have a chance to visit LA. I will definitely want to experience the view myself.
