United’s Economy Plus

Airline Travelling gets challenging when you have kids, and specially the domestic ones as most of them have very less facilities when compared to the international flights.

Last week I got to fly to Orlando from Los Angeles with my 2 year old toddler and only a parent can imagine how hard it is to travel with kids. But thank fully my experience with “United Airlines” was so good and peace full that i couldn’t stop myself sharing this with you. Here, in this blog I will be sharing if it’s worth to spend a little bit more for Economy Plus in United Airlines.

Flight : United 234 (Orlando to Los Angeles)

Class : Economy Plus

Baggage : 1 Carry-on and 1 Personal Item

My Check-in was easy and fast at Orlando International Airport and when the boarding started,we were the first one to enter the flight for the obvious reason as we were with a toddler. I parked my stroller out before boarding my flight and as soon as i boarded, one of the air-hostess welcomed us,asked for our ticket and lead us to our seats.

We were expecting the Economy Plus to be a separate cabin but it was not on United. They are a group of normal coach seats with more legroom and are arranged in the same 3-4-3 layout as regular coach. The good thing is you are seated closer to the exit doors, and can exit the plane easier at your destination and more quickly and after a long haul flight you seriously just want to get off the plane.

We arrived at our seats and I was clearly able to see the difference in a glance. As we settled down, I was surprised to see how comfortable the seats were and specially the Legroom.

My lil one can actually lay down lol

Economy Plus seats feature up to five inches of extra legroom to stretch out with more space to work or relax.I am 5.2 inches and I was able to stretch my legs fully which is rare.

Legroom where am able to stretch fully

Entertainment :

First of all , I was happy to see a TV in a domestic airline because some of them which i traveled till now(within the USA) had NO TV. The back of each seat has a 10-inch touchscreen equipped with some of the latest movie releases, TV episodes, Live TV and even games which can keep you & your little ones entertained throughout the journey.

Watching one of my favorite Disney Shows on Live TV

There is also a USB port for charging phones or smaller devices, and each row of three seats has two universal plug outlets for plugging in larger devices.

FREE WIFI :

Who doesn’t like to use a WIFI on a flight? and I was even more happy when i learnt it’s  FREE. Yes, I was totally surprised to see a FREE WIFI available for everyone throughout our journey. Of course the speed was low but it was good enough to use my Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp, Email and other News Websites.

FREE WIFI?? YES,Please !!

Snacks :

30 minutes after our flight took-off, we were offered a snack which had pretzels ,cookies and drinks of our choice. Obviously, there is not much to expect from a 5 hour flight. But my Little one wanted this snack for every one hour lol. The staff were really kind to give him some snacks whenever he asked.

I found the aircraft is smaller in the length wise and it was furnished with pairs of lavatories only in the rear of the Economy cabin. They were well-maintained and also offered changing tables.

Is it worth to spend a little bit more for Economy Plus in United Airlines ?

United’s Economy Plus gives you that extra space that makes an immense difference

Of-course YES and now you know why !!! United’s Economy Plus is perfect for those who travel with kids or may not want to splurge on First or Business class, but need a little extra comfort.I must say we were both very surprised at how much difference an extra 5 inches does.

I love the free WIFI. We also tend to ask for the exit row seats to get more leg room, but you can’s tore anything under those seats. So this is a little better.

How cool! This seems like a great airline to fly. I’ll keep it in mind. Normally we just do Southwest because of the free baggage.

Oh my!The experience would be enough to make me treasure flights: the Wi-Fi , entertainment and the fact that once can stretch fully is great!

This is great information, I usually have to book the bulkhead to travel with my Service Dog – then I get stressed out worrying that someone else took the spot. This would be so much easier!
