Things to do at Walt Disney World without a Park ticket

Who doesn’t love visiting Disney and swirl in it’s magic ?

Earlier, I told you about Free things to do at Disneyland and Tips to maximize your stay at Disney and now Here’s a list of few things for which you don’t need to buy a ticket for the park and still experience the Disney’s magic.

  • Disney springs :

Disney Springs is full of entertainment , shopping & Food. Whether you shop or window shop , one can actually spend an entire day just strolling around the Disney Springs. There’s a lot of things Disney Springs has to offer and you can check the list

  • Boardwalk :

Inspired by Coney island , Boardwalk is beautifully themed and built around by the edge of a lake. Packed with restaurants, shops and entertainment , It feels so much fun strolling around the Boardwalk and the atmosphere gets really romantic during the dawn. The Boardwalk is Disney’s version of CityWalk and I would recommend going here in the evening as the boardwalk gets beautifully lit up.

  • Electrical Water Pageant :

It is a floating parade which starts from the magic kingdom stopping at each resort in order: Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Ft. Wilderness and Contemporary. The parade usually starts at 9 pm everyday and during that time If you are at any of these resorts , you can watch this parade for FREE.

  • Disney Resorts/Hotels :

You can visit all the Disney resorts and stroll around them. Every Resort is sticked to its theme and has it’s own magic in itself. I bet you will never get bored strolling around these resorts . If you are lucky enough, you will also have chances of bumping into some Disney Characters.

Some of my favorites are,

Animal Kingdom Lodge : Step into the  heart of South Africa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge where you will also find some exotic animals wandering around.

Art of Animation Resort ,  All-Star Sports, All-Star Movies, All-Star Music or Pop Century:  All these resorts have larger than life icons of Disney characters which makes a great photo op.

Grand Floridian Resort : As the name itself says, Everything is GRAND about this place. It is huge with the beautiful Victorian decor which will definitely remind you of Cinderella.  It is also consistently ranked as  one of the most romantic resorts in Orlando.

Polynesian Village Resort : It is a Island styled theme resort with beautiful bungalows on water.

  • Transportation :

You don’t have to pay a penny to travel to all these resorts. Disney offers a complimentary bus/ferry/monorail shuttle to all its resorts and parks. If visiting by a car, just let the gate attendants know about your visit and they will provide you a 3 hour parking permit.

  • Ride the monorail (FREE) :

I believe everyone should travel in this Monorail located right infront of the Magic kingdom to get some amazing views of the parks and resorts.Even if you don’t have a ticket to Epicot, you can actually have a glimpse of the park from the Monorail.

View from the Monorail

  • Ride the Ferry (FREE) :

Ride the ferry located infront of the Magic Kingdom for free. The ferry actually takes you to the Polynesian Village resort. You can take a ride any time or infinite times in a day but the best part is to watch the fireworks of magic kingdom from the ferry.

  • Fun at Celebration :

Celebration is a small town developed by Disney which is a beautiful place to stroll around and during winter(December) they host a event called “Now Snowing Nightly,” which features a snowfall four times  every night in between 6pm – 9pm with lots of entertainment all for free.

Summary :

As far as i know , this is just a mini list of things to do even when you don’t have a park ticket. But am sure there is much more Disney has to offer. Please comment down below if you know any 🙂

I am always amazed at how Disney has grown. I first went in 1972, before the original was even completed. Have not been back, but perhaps one day.

I could spend a week just exploring all the hotels. I love that one can ride the monorail for free.

I hadn’t heard of Disney Springs before. These are great ideas to get the most of out of your visit! Looks like the ferry ride during the fireworks would be a hot item, so beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

I never even considered before about being able to go to Disneyland without a park ticket. There is SO much to do other than be in the park itself. Very insightful if I was going on a trip that I wouldn’t have to buy tickets for being in the park for days!

I don’t think they have any golf court( I might be wrong) but here’s the address for the Grand Floridian Resort – 4401 Floridian way, Bay Lake, FL 32836
