Tips & Things you should know before visiting LEGOLAND California with Kids

Things you should be know before visiting LEGOLAND California With Kids:

If you guys are following us on Instagram then you should be knowing that we’ve been to LEGOLAND California recently and had so much fun there. It was our first visit with our 3 year old son and he had a blast. Though we were the first timers, we did a lot of research on what, how, when, what not to do in LEGOLAND before our visit. And with the help of our research and experience, we will be sharing some tips on LEGOLAND Which you should be knowing before you go.

Before I proceed, A Big Thanks to LEGOLAND California for Hosting us!!

Buy tickets in advance:ย

We always recommend buying your tickets ahead of time online to any place you visit (not just LEGOLAND) just to avoid those long waiting lines at the booths and moreover you will find tons of discounts or coupon codes online which can save few bucks.

Kids can go for FREE:

If you are going with kids then here’s the good news… LEGOLAND has ‘Free LEGOLAND Child’s Ticket’ with an Adult Ticket Purchase (for ages 3-12).Now this is something really cool ย Click on this link to Redeem the Free Ticket Offer. Andย if you buy Honest Kids Juice! On an 8-count carton, youโ€™ll find an offer that includes a FREE Child Hopper Ticket with a full paid Adult Hopper Ticket admission coupon to LEGOLAND California Resort.!

Pack an extra set of clothes :

Even if you are not planning to go to the water park, there are a few splash and play areas inside the park. If your little ones love to play in the water, then you should be having some extra clothes or bathing suits for them. If you plan to visit during summers then playing in the splash areas is the best way to beat the California heat.

Bring Snacks & Water:

Yes, you’ve read it right. Most of the Amusements are strict when it comes to bringing outside food in the park but in LEGOLAND,you are welcomed to bring small snacks and water.

Plan to stay the whole day:

We totally underestimated LEGOLAND and surprisingly it is Huge and there is so much to do in there. It’s not just a park but there is water park and Sea Life Aquarium located inside. We were there from 9:30am to 6pm and still couldn’t complete the entire park moreover, We had to totally skip the water park as the climate was very cold during our visit(End of October).

Use the App :

If you are in any Theme Park, then using their app saves lot of your time & energy. You can use the LEGOLAND app to check wait times (that feature only works once youโ€™ve entered the park), order food to skip the lines, make dinner reservations at hotel restaurants, purchase Reserve โ€˜nโ€™ Ride and get more LEGOLAND California tips and information.

Avoid getting Tired:

As i said above, the park is huge and there’s tons of things to do in there and definitely you will get tried. To avoid getting tired, Plan the rides accordingly. Like there are tons of relaxing rides(boat rides) which we did in an hour interval just to relax our feet and enjoy looking at the things around the park.

Granny Apple Fries:

This is something you will only find it in LEGOLAND Parks-The famous Granny apples. Granny Apple are basically fried apple slices, dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with vanilla whipped cream for dipping!. Trust me, these are so addictive that you would be wanting more.

Strollers are Must :

If you are visiting with toddlers then Strollers are Must. As i said earlier, this park is Huge. My 3 year old is a very good walker and he was never a stroller boy. For the first time, he asked us if he can sit in a stroller lol so you can imagine the amount of walking. You can also rent one in the park, check the prices here on their website

Go as Early as Possible :

So this is the thing which amazed us. When we checked LEGOLAND Website for hours, it showed the park opens at 11am. But we were their early by chance at 9:30 am and for our surprise,we were allowed to get in the park. We were amazed and happy as we got to do most of the rides during lesser crowd. So whenever you plan to come here, come early and you might get to enter the park before everyone does.

Free Button :

You can get a FREE Birthday Button or First Visit Button. Just head to the guest relations located outside the park and ask for a Button which suits your occasion. When you have your birthday button on, you can receive birthday greetings from everyone who works in the park. These Buttons make a great sovereign.

Miniland USA:

A visit to LEGOLAND is incomplete without seeing the beautiful MiniLand USA . Infact i was here just to see this Miniland where you get to see Mini cities made entirely out of LEGO’s. Now this is something which you can never find anywhere else except at LEGOLAND Parks. So it is foolishness if you miss it.

Kids eat free at Pizza & pasta :

There is restaurant in the park called ‘Pizza & Pasta’ where kids can eat free with purchase of 1 adult buffet. This might save few bucks if you have 2 or more kids in your group.Usually all the restaurants in the park are busy with long waiting lines but this one is a bit more because everyone with kids come here to eat.

Take Advantage of Package Pickup Service :

When you are at a theme park with kids , its obvious that you would want to buy something for kids or a sovereign. But no one likes to carry those bags, So make sure to take advantage of their Package Pick-up service. All retail purchases made throughout the Park can be transferred to the Park exit for you to pick up on your way home at NO COST

Rainy Day Promise :

Now this is something unique about LEGOLAND Parks which i totally love. Do you Know, Legoland has a “Rainy Day” promise, which means, In the rare instance if it rains and forces the closure of rides for at least 2 hours, their Rainy Day Promise allows for all paid guests already in the Park to return later in the season. Now tell me if this isn’t awesome ?? Click here for more information about Rainy Day Promise

Take advantage of ‘Parent Swap’ :

Sometimes things like these happen when you are visiting a theme park with kids – You stand in a long waiting line and when it’s your turn, you will be turned back just because your kid doesn’t meet the height requirement which can be really frustrating. To avoid this to happen, you can actually swap your spot with your partner. Your partner can wait with your kid until your done with the ride and then when he/she is done, you can go do the ride and the best part is, you don’t have to stand in line again, you are allowed to go on that ride as soon as your partner comes back. Isn’t this smart??

I have a 3 year old nephew, I bet he would love going to Legoland! That’s so nice that kids go free, I would have never guessed that. And a restaurant where kids eat free too? Theme parks are usually so incredibly pricey that this makes me really want to plan a family trip here!

These are some great tips, I totally agree with using the theme parks app if they have any. This saves a lot of time, especially if its a huge theme park with a lot of different attractions. I also like to visit early, it lets you spend more time on attraction and less time in cues

Wow Legoland has changed over the years. So sophisticated in their products compared to when we took our boys to Legoland in London – they are now 30 and 28 and still remember it because it poured with rain all day and we got soaked. It cost us a fortune for a rained out day but so pleased to hear that Legoland California offers free tickets for children between 3 and 12. There are some great tips to visit here.

Legolan offers alot of cool stuff and this is the first time ive heard of it. I especially am amazed of letting kids below 12 yrs of age go in for free that makes the expenses of bringing kids over to amusement parks way affordable. Plus bringing of outside snacks and water also is very helpful for a family who plans on spending the whole day at the park.

I’ve never been to any of the legoland parks but these are great tips for anyone visiting the park. Bringing outside food to the park is really a great idea to lessen the expenses and save more money

Whaaaaat?? That is SO great that kids can go free with a paid adult – that saves so much. And it’s a smart idea to take that extra change of clothes. It looks like a great place to go with the kids. And who doesn’t love legos?

  • Bhushavali

This is a super cool place, esp, since I too travel with my toddler, she’ll have a ball there!
Its awesome that with an adult, the child can actually go for free! Its also amazing that they allow outside snacks & water. Very kind of them indeed.
Apple fries? I don’t think I’ve ever tasted that, but I’m gonna try that out.
